Breaking News, Ex CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele Released By DSS But Wisked Away By EFCC

This is coming  a day after the detained former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, was also released by the DSS after 135 days of detention without trial.

While Bawa was allowed to go home, according to SaharaReporters report,  Emefiele who had been in DSS custody since June 9, was however whisked away immediately by the anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“Emefiele regained his freedom last night but he was immediately picked up by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,” the portal quoted a top security source as saying.

“It was learnt that the Presidency directed the EFCC to take over the case,” the report adds.
