I Won the Election, Peter Obi Reaffirms, Calls for Transparent Electoral Process

Former Anambra State Governor and former presidential candidate Peter Obi has once again maintained that he won a previous presidential election in Nigeria, while calling for greater transparency and credibility in the country’s electoral process.

Speaking during an interview on the NevOn Podcast, Obi said he remains convinced that he emerged victorious in the election despite the official outcome announced by the authorities.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate insisted that history would eventually reveal the true story of the poll.

“In the last election, I won. Forget about the proof that I won. One day, they will declare me,” Obi said during the interview.

He argued that his experience as a presidential candidate had strengthened his belief in the need for reforms that would guarantee free, fair and transparent elections in Nigeria.

“I have contested an election in Nigeria as a presidential candidate and won,” he stated. “If one was declared, one day the story will be told.”

Obi also reaffirmed his readiness to participate in future elections, saying his political ambition is driven by a desire to serve the country and contribute to its development.

“For now, I can tell you, I’m offering myself for a general election in Nigeria,” he said.

Expressing optimism about the future of Nigeria’s democracy, Obi said he believes the country will eventually achieve a more transparent and credible electoral system.

“One day the process will be correct. The process will be transparent and it will happen,” he added.

The remarks come amid ongoing debates over electoral reforms and the integrity of Nigeria’s voting process, issues that continue to shape political discourse across the country.
