Mohbad’s Widow Takes Legal Action To Safeguard Late Singer’s Estate

The widow of late music star Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, known as Mohbad, has taken legal steps to prevent any unauthorized claims to his estate by filing a notice at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja.

In a letter dated November 19, 2025, submitted through her lawyers Salawu, Akingbolu & Co. and signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.), Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba informed the Probate Registrar that she had submitted Form 5 and Form 6, ensuring that Letters of Administration cannot be granted to anyone other than the recognized beneficiaries. The filing also formally identified Mrs. Aloba as Mohbad’s legal wife and the mother of his only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.

She noted that public notices were published in two national newspapers in November 2025 to prevent any fraudulent or unauthorized attempts to claim the estate. Her legal team stressed that the notice remains valid in court records and must be respected until the estate is properly administered, expressing confidence that no irregular claims would be allowed while the deceased’s lawful wife and son are still alive.
